B.A. English Literature with Shakespeare Studies with Year Abroad Full-time

2026/27 Session

The following must be taken:

LH Dissertation in English Literature 09 27043 40 Full Term

Students must choose two modules per semester. Optional modules: Students must choose at least two English Literature modules. Optional modules: A maximum of one module from each of English Literature Blocks A, B, C and D can be chosen. Optional modules: Two English Literature modules must cover topics relevant to Shakespeare studies. Those modules are: • Shakespeare’s Tragedies • Flourish for the Players: Shakespeare’s Contemporaries • Elizabeth I and Her Poets • The Figure of the Witch: Witch Writings c. 1400-1700 Optional modules: Students may choose to take two Drama modules. Students who chose to take Drama modules at level I will not be required to take Drama modules at level H. Optional modules: Students who did not choose to take Drama modules at level I will be unable to take Drama modules at level H. Optional modules: Students not choosing Drama modules may choose one Employability module.

Drama: Practical Modules

Students may apply to undertake a placement module in their final year. If successful, they will take this module in place of one of their semester 1 options. The in place of one of their semester 1 options. The placement can be taken either during the summer vacation (part-time or full-time) or during semester 1 (part-time only). The placement must be completed prior to the Christmas vacation.
